Parking & Getting There
If you’re bringing your car to the airport, there are lots of options to suit many different itineraries and vacation time frames. From short term parking (perfect for hourly or a day or two) and long-term parking (excellent for an extended stay) to the fast track business parking, which includes premium spaces one minute walking from the airport entrance as well as covered spaces, you can choose an option that works for your budget and your plans. The on-site shuttles make their rounds every ten minutes, and bonus: they’re free.
If you land and you’re in need of a car, there are rental services that are available at the airport, with options from Avis, Budget, Eurocar, Hertz, Redspot and Thrifty, and can be found on the ground floor of the building.
For those not traveling with a car, the Perth airport shuttle can pick you up and drop you off at 5 convenient locations within Perth, including East Perth train station, WA Museum on Beaufort Street, Wellington Street, The Kings Perth Hotel, and The Ambassador Hotel. The price of this shuttle is $15 per trip, and it isn’t necessary to book in advance; there are ticket couriers with every shuttle.
A new feature at the Perth airport is online parking reservations, which can save you up to 25% immediately, and then lots of time when you actually arrive and no longer have to navigate the check-in process.
While Perth doesn’t offer any immediate accommodation options, there are many close hotels that are useful for weary travels hoping to catch shut-eye between flights, or in the case of a canceled flight, a place to stay overnight.
The International On The Water Hotel is a 4-star location that offers a free shuttle and is less than 2 miles from the airport. With a check-in at 2pm and a checkout at 11am, along with complimentary Wi-Fi, a fully equipped gym and state of the art indoor and outdoor pools, this hotel has excellent service that can really come handy in a pinch. It is located in Ascot suburb, where you can find great places to eat, drink, and enjoy beautiful scenery of the Swan River.
Shopping is easily one of the things that makes layovers more bearable, and new features at the Perth Airport are taking that convenience and making it even better. Now you can browse the selection online, make your orders, and then pick up your shopping once you make it to the airport. Cash in on all the great duty-free deals before leaving your accommodation (or arriving) within 24 hours of your flight, provide all of your flight details, and you are good to go!
Don’t have any local currency? Perth Airport also has you covered, with a currency exchange that charges no commission fees and has your cash ready for you upon arrival. No more bank hassles or exorbitant exchange fees; at Perth Airport they just like to keep it simple.
To catch a bite before boarding, hit up any of the T1, T2, or T3 terminals for a wide selection of sit-down eateries to quick cafes that cater to coffee-lover or heathy eaters or both. Hudson’s coffee offer the traditional café style bites as well as fresh cups of joe while Fresh Start is best known for their crisp (and nutritious) wraps. For something a little less quick try Four Alls Brew House to taste some local (as well as international) beer favorites while noshing on delicious pub fare.
