Getting There

By Train or Bus, from Perth CBD, catch a train on the Midland line, get off at Guildford station and head to the Swan Valley Visitor Centre to collect your free Swan Valley Visitor Guide. There is an option for a Ferry also, you catch it up the swan river, from Perth or Fremantle Terminals.

Once you are in the Swan Valley, you will either have to join an organise tour or use a ride share service, to make your way around your chosen destinations.

Food and Drink

Fine wine and food certainly make great companions, and the Swan Valley has a number of local restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy the local wine, beer and delicious food often made with fresh local produce. Relaxed alfresco dining is a popular feature of the Swan Valley particularly in summer, and many of the eateries and restaurants have bright yet shady undercover areas for a casual dining experience, somewhat reminiscent of a mediterranean holiday.

Beer lovers will not be disappointed either, as there are a number of boutique and micro breweries in the region making their own award winning brews. You will find over 20 locally brewed beers on offer, including ales, stout and even German and Belgian style beers.

What to See and Do when Visiting

The Swan Valley also comes to life with regular live music at many of the restaurants and venues, particularly at weekends, and also hosts a number of special outdoor events over the summer months.

Whiteman Park offers a great location for picnics and barbeques in a relaxed bushland setting, and coin operated gas and electric barbeques are available for your use in the park’s picnic and recreation areas. Other activities at the park include train rides, motor and tractor museums, and the Caversham Wildlife Park.
