Update Dec 2025: PerthNow, The much-loved Mt Lawley Christmas Fete has been cancelled, with organisers confirming they are “incredibly saddened” after a major funding cut and rising event costs forced the community celebration to a halt, reported PerthNow.
In a statement posted on Monday night, organisers announced that the popular holiday event would not proceed in 2025, bringing an end to a run of eight years of festive lights, markets and family entertainment.

The free festivities will stretch along Beaufort Street between Perth College and Second Avenue from 3pm. The festival will feature camel rides, bouncy castles, artisan market stalls, live music entertainment, food vans, wine & beer bar, fun kids activities (including Christmas Carols and Santa!), and plenty of live entertainment. The Calamunda Camels will also be at Copley Park on the 14th of December, ready to give everyone a fun ride around the Festival area!
To finish off the day, everyone will be singing carols by candlelight on the St Patrick’s lawn before turning on the iconic Mount Lawley Christmas Tree. Come down on the 14th of December and enjoy this fun with the community!
